Petrolia & Enniskillen Fall Fair Demolition Derby

Rules and Regulations

The demolition derby is promoted as an exciting spectator attraction. In the interest of safety, anyone

entering the event is subject to and must obey the following:

Each driver must complete an official entry form and submit it with the entry fee.

Each entry is entitled to have one driver, one pit crew who must be 16 years of age or older and one tow

vehicle in the pit area. All driver must present a valid driver's license at the time of entry.  

All driver's and pit crew must have signed the waiver form in order to be allowed in.

Derby officials reserve the right to approve or reject any or all entries, head official's word is final.

The derby will start at 1 pm. Cars must be on the grounds and drivers and pit crew registered 2 hours

before inspection. Inspection will begin at 11 am.

The driver's meeting will be held immediately prior to the start of the race, and is compulsory for all

competitors.

The is zero tolerance for use of alcohol or drugs. Use of either will result in immediate disqualification of

the entry and eviction from the grounds.

Fighting or arguing with officials or other participants will result in disqualification and eviction from the

grounds.

NO refunds for the consolation heats after the $10 fee has been paid.

Rules_
Drivers must have controToftfieir vehicle aFaTf times both on the track and in the pit area.
. All^ars and drivers must be equipped with the proper safety equipment such as helmets, seatbeltr. and
goggles or shield. AH drivers must wear acceptable attire. No shorts, tank tops or short sleeves. Long
sleeves or coveralls and work boots are recommended.
Drivers must pay attention to and obey track officials at all times.
Driver'sdoor hits will not be tolerated.                

Disqualifications:

1. If a driver places all 4 tires on or over the ring boundary, whether pushed or not

2. If a car catches fire while competing unless it is a 2-3 second carburetor fire that can be extinguished without assistance.

3. Driver's door comes open while participating

4. Driver's eye protection or seatbelt is removed either by contact or manually while vehicle is moving. If eye protection is knocked off by contact, the driver must replace it before they are allowed to move.

5. Car stopped for more than 2 minutes

The front driver's side door must be painted white for numbering and identification.

A heat winner must drive the same vehicle in the feature race. No driver substitutions are allowed.

Cars, Vans, Trucks Set up

1. Vehicles must be ready to go upon inspection

2. Any North American made front engine, hard-top automobile is allowed, with the exception of the following: NO JEEP, HEARSE, CARRY-ALL, TAXI, FULL SIZE VAN OR FULL SIZE CARGO VAN. (mini vans only) Year of vehicle must not exceed 1975

3. No engine or transmission modification

4. A car may only be entered once per event, (except for consolation heat, or powder puff heat)

5. Must have adequate brakes

6.Trailer hitches must be removed.

7-Exhaust systems removed (catalytic converters, mufflers)

8.Stacks are allowed.

9. Passenger car or all season tires only, no larger the P235-15, low aggressive treads on all season tires (no
truck tires, studded tires, snow tires, cut tires. DOT approved.

10. X loads are allowed                 

11. All glass including headlights, taillights, mirrors, front windshield, door handles, and trim removed. Sunroof must be removed and replaced with a shield that doest not strengthen the vehicle.

12. The trunk and passenger area must be swept clean of any debris and glass prior to arriving at the event.        

13. All doors are to be wired or chained or steel banded or welded. Welds may not be any longer than 3
inches long and 4 inches in between

14. Hoods and trunks are to be wired in4 spots each.#9 wire or greater must be used with ends turned in. A

bar or chain from roof to dash or firewall

15. Gas shocks must be removed

16. Fuel injected cars may move the original gas tank into the back seat. It must be well secured with leak proof fittings and have a fire proof shield. It must also have safety toggle switch for fuel pump.

17. Electric fuel pumps are permitted but must have a functioning shut off switch marked brightly mounted on the dash in front of the driver.

18. Battery must be removed from the engine compartment and secured to the floor of the front passenger area in a wooden or plastic box, and will require a non-flammable cover to be secured after inspection. NO cutting battery into seats, (only one 12 volt car battery is allowed)

19. Radiators must remain in stock position and may only contain water, no anti-freeze.

20. There must be a hole in the hood (over the carburetor) 12x12 inches to provide access in the event of a fire                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

21. Screen windshield or the use of a centre bar is allowed if they are properly fastened.

22.NO spring jacks, air bags, air shocks or blocked shocks. Suspension must be free of any blocks. Spot welding of front and rear bumpers is permitted as long as gas shocks have been drilled and drained, and free or blockage.

23. Welded or chained motor mounts are recommended.                     

24. All seats (except drive's) and flammable material must be removed from the vehicle

25. Frame may not be painted or undercoated, no filling frame with any substance.

26. No body or fender cuts, stock bumpers may be bent on ends but not cut They can be spot welded if the a

bumper is falling off.       

27. No fuel additives.

28. Tie down, coil springs is allowed with wire or chain  

29. No excessive bending of a car unless from a previous derby             

30. Any car deemed reinforced will be disqualified                      

31. Flat plate only may be applied to outside of car. Driver's door only - Vi" thick - no wider than 12" and no longer than 72" may be bolted or welded optional and painted white.

32. The driver's door is only to be painted white, and all other doors to be painted a different color.

You are responsible for the immediate removal of the vehicle and its parts.

PLEASE NOTE all heat winners go into a holding area,when all heats are done.Then all heat winners will be given 30 minutes to work on their cars.
